TEXAS AWAITS TEAM FEDERAL OIL GRESINI MOTO2
#AmericasGP. The fourth-last event of the Moto2 World Championship will take place this weekend at Austin, Texas. The standard bearers of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 will somehow make their debut around the corners of the American track.
At Austin, both Fabio Di Giannantonio and Nicolò Bulega have already raced in Moto3, and their best results have been a third and a fifth, respectively (both in 2017). Their Moto2 experience at this track, on the other hand, is very limited: both will tackle their first US race on a Kalex machine, with Bulega even at his first-ever Moto2 experience at this track.
Moto2 proceedings will get underway at 17:55 local time with the first free practice sessions.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21 (7th in the championship standings – 108 points)
“I barely rode 200m at Austin on a Moto2 bike two years ago, then my race was over. It’s a fantastic track and to race in the USA is always a wonderful experience. It’s clear that our goals are higher compared to the results we achieved in the last outings, and we’d like to finish the season on a high note, starting from Austin.”
NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (26th in the championship standings – 12 points)
“I’m very curious about racing on a Moto2 bike at this track as two years ago I was forced home to undergo surgery due to compartment syndrome. I like the track though, and I did well in Moto3 there in the past. We need to keep working in the same direction as Aragon and Misano, where we did well despite the results did not show it.”
