THE FELO GRESINI MOTOE ADVENTURE IN THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BEGINS IN JEREZ

Race Preview – #SpanishGP First flight of the year for the FELO Gresini Racing MotoE team to Jerez de la Frontera, the same circuit where the pre-season tests also took place. There are a number of exciting changes to look forward to the 2022 championship: first of all, the E-Pole will be replaced by the Q1-Q2 format, conforming to the other MotoGP ™, Moto2 ™ and Moto3 ™ classes. The combined free practice will decide the 8 e-riders who will have direct access to Q2: the others will attend the Q1, in which the first two riders will have one more chance to enter the Q2 and take the PolePosition. Another news is that every weekend there will be one race on Saturday and one on Sunday: the grid positions of both races will be based on Friday’s qualifying results.

Matteo Ferrari will try to bring home as many points as possible, if not victory, from the first rounds; he will have to concentrate his energies to the maximum already from Friday: a complex day with two free practice sessions followed by qualifying, which have a significant weight in both the two races. The goal of rider #11 is to always stay in the leading group.

We find an excited Alessio Finello on his official debut in the World Championship. The rider number #72 underwent a fasciotomy operation for compartment syndrome in his right forearm after coming home from tests, but thanks to intense rehabilitation he is ready to hit the track for this new adventure.

The MotoE FP1 begins on Friday at 08:25 (GMT + 2)

MATTEO FERRARI #11

“We want to start with our feet on the ground, the level is very high and it won’t be easy. Tests went well, but we still have some work to do and take another step. It will be important to find the right strategy for this new format, where Friday will be fundamental. In Jerez we will try to take as many points as possible: we aim to win, or at least fight with the leading group ”.

ALESSIO FINELLO #72

“I can’t wait, I’m really excited for my debut in the world championship: a dream that comes true. As for the right arm I am calm, I recovered well, and I already have almost complete movement and I should be able to ride well. We will try to bring home a good result right from the start, growing over the weekend, session after session. Unfortunately we weren’t able to practice a lot during the tests due to the rain, but the real growth path will start on Friday in Jerez: I will give my all in every session to repay the team, the sponsors and all the people who follow me, for trusting me”.
