SLOW START FOR INDONESIAN E-RACING GRESINI MOTOE

#DutchGP Free Practice. It was a challenging Friday for Matteo Ferrari and Andrea Mantovani as the two standard bearers of Gresini Racing in MotoE could not finish higher than 8th and 16th in the combined times of today’s two free practice sessions held at the TT Circuit Assen.

Ferrari made a good step forward across the two sessions as he improved by 0.6secs, but his one and a half second gap to the top needs more work. The work for tomorrow will be focused on direction changes, the real challenge for the Italian #11 today.

It was a day to forget for the other side of the pit-box as Andrea Mantovani crashed – uninjured – once per session, something which heavily affected his on-track activity.

8th – MATTEO FERRARI #11 (1’44.248)

“We did a good step forward between the two sessions in terms of setup, so I’m happy. Surely we didn’t get out on track at the right time in FP2: the track was still damp, so we could have been a lot quicker. Tomorrow we’ll try to improve some more in FP3.”

16th ANDREA MANTOVANI #9 (1’46.370)

“Two sessions and two crashes… definitely not the perfect Friday. This morning it happened at turn 16, while this afternoon it happened at turn five. We want to turn this weekend around and I hope to do so already from tomorrow – and hopefully I’ll be 100% fit. I would like to thank the team who has done an incredible job.”
