JEREZ TEST – Vol.2
Jerez de la Frontera, 17th of February 2022. The comeback to Jerez, just a few days after the first test of the season, where the riders find themselves having to face a track with a very bad grip. These conditions led Filip Salač to a bad crash in turn 7 on the first day. Fortunately, the CT scan did not reveal any head trauma. The rider with the number 12 was however declared unfit for the second day of testing, in order to allow him a full recovery for the three days of IRTA tests that will be held in Portimao starting from February the19th.
Positive start instead for Alessandro Zaccone, who continues the work began in the first test: to find the best base where to start from throughout the season, closing the first day in 5th position, first among the Italians with a time of 1:42.389. The work continues on the second day as well, looking for the fastest lap, which did not arrive due to a defective tire.
FILIP SALAČ #12
“A really difficult first day of testing, I’ve been very unlucky. I crashed in turn 7, at high speed. I had to go to the hospital for a severe pain in my head: the hope of being able to get back on track the following day was high, as the CT scan was negative, but after a further medical check at the circuit the doctors preferred to stop me, to allow my body to fully recover for Portimao, as I still have headache, and getting back on track could have been dangerous. I apologize to the whole team: but in two days we will be back on track in Portimao, where we can continue the work started here in Jerez. I am confident that these other three days of testing in Portugal will allow us to arrive at the first race a 100% ready. ”
ALESSANDRO ZACCONE #61
“Two really positive days. Initially we struggled a bit to find the right direction, we had to work hard and try so many different things, but finally we got there. Unfortunately we couldn’t make the fastest lap because used only one new tire and it was defective, but overall I’m happy, we really did a great job with the team, they are satisfied too; in Portimao we will start working from here!”
