LE MANS: DIGGIA BOUNCES BACK TO 8th, FIRST POINTS FOR BULEGA

#FrenchGP race. Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 bags some valuable points in France, with both riders in the top-15 at the end of the race.

Fabio Di Giannantonio was the first of the two Gresini Racing riders to cross the finish line in eighth place: he was battling in the early stages for the top six, but then a coming together with Garzó forced him to a long-lap penalty – which became two as the race progressed. The rider #21 has great pace, which allows him to put together an excellent comeback. With 58 under his belt, Di Giannantonio stays in fifth place in the standings, 29 points shy of current leader Gardner.

Nicolò Bulega scored his first points of the season after making up several positions following a poor start (from 11th to 18th) and was 13th at the chequered flag. Three important points for the morale which will be the base upon which he will build his season.

8th – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21 (5th in the championship standings – 58 points)

“Given how the weekend was looking, this morning I would have signed for such a result. I had the pace for the podium on the dry so it’s a shame for the two long lap penalties. I think the penalty was a little excessive, but then the second one was my fault. Let’s take the positive out of it and to go home with eight more points is good.”

13th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (25th in the championship standings – 3 points)

“We didn’t manage to get what we were looking for today in the race, but in any case we’re taking home something. It’s just three points but we’re starting from this. Unfortunately we made the wrong tyre choice at the rear – too soft.”
