LOWES BATTLES THROUGH Q1 TO CLAIM 16TH PLACE ON THE #THAIGP GRID

It has been a challenging Saturday at Chang International Circuit for Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 who finished #ThaiGP qualifying in sixteenth place.

The day started with heavy rain as the star of the early sessions and despite the sun made its way back soon, the mixed-condition FP3 forced the Briton to an early show in Q1. The extra time on track has helped Lowes find something ahead of the race, but at the same time it prevented him from getting a good qualifying result given the limited tyre allocation for the second session.

With a warm-up still to make the most of and a weather that could still have a big impact on the race, Lowes gets ready for yet another comeback, with the encounter set to get underway at 12:20 local time (GMT+7).

16th – SAM LOWES #22

“We were unable to take much out of FP3 but it was the same for everybody, but then in Q1 we made a great step forward. We did a great time although in Q2, with the used front-tyre, it was impossible to replicate. The race pace improved a lot and now we can mix up with a big part of the group. Let’s say that the goal can be the top-ten, which is not where we wanted to be, but we’ll try to find a few more tenths in the warm up.”
