LOWES AMONG THE LEADERS IN FREE PRACTICE AT ALCAÑIZ

Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 will sleep tight tonight after a convincing Friday of free practice in which Sam Lowes led a big portion of FP2 and logged a 1’53.111secs lap-time which was quick enough for fourth place.

With rain likely to be the protagonist at Motorland Aragón tomorrow, Sam Lowes should easily get direct access to Q2 (scheduled at 15:30 GMT+2) with the aim to clinch a front-row start.

Before then, though it will be crucial to find the perfect setup for the bike, given the Briton has tried many setting changes in the 40 laps he completed and now needs to put it all together.

4th – SAM LOWES #22

“It’s been a positive day and we kind of picked up from where we left off in Misano. Finally we have a competitive base to work on in this final leg of the season, something we had found during winter testing but didn’t manage to maintain. We tried three different settings today and all of them have plus and minuses, so I asked Tommaso a mix of all three to be super competitive on Sunday and tomorrow too – if the weather will allow us to. We will continue working in this direction.”
