MISANO AND ARAGON AWAIT LOWES
Sam Lowes prepares for the last two back-to-back races in Europe before the long fly-away trip to Asia. These two events will be very crucial for the British rider, who needs to get out of a difficult situation in terms of results – which has so far translated in a poor positioning in the standings.
With Silverstone out of the way and a two weeks’ break to focus more on the mental side than on his fitness, the Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 rider is ready for two circuits which are very special for him: on one side the is the Misano World Circuit, a track few km away from where the English rider lives with his wife and daughter – which makes it a home GP for him. At the other end of the two back-to-back weekends there is the MotorLand Aragon, which is where he won his last Moto2 race in 2016 – while wearing the Gresini racing colours.
Moto2 proceedings will begin on Friday following the traditional timetable at both GP with free practice 1 to begin at 10:55 (GMT+2) on Friday, while the race will get underway on Sunday at 12:20
SAM LOWES #22
“I spent two weeks back at home in England to work mainly on the mental side of things with my coach. We are coming from some poor performances and I needed to reset a little. I trained relaly hard also because Misano is the second home race, not only for the team but also for me as I live few kms away from the track. I can’t wait to be getting back on the bike for two back-to-back races which will also take me to Aragon, the venue where I won my last race. These are two tracks I like and they give me some fond memories, especially the Spanish one. We are close to perfection with the bike, so I only have to keep working on myself a little.”
