MOTOE: THE GRAND FINALE

Race Preview – #SanMarinoGP After the unlucky weekend in Austria, where Finello got injured in FP1 and Ferrari grounded in Race1 and penalized in Race2, the team FELO Gresini Racing MotoE is eager to get back in the game.

Matteo Ferrari is the master of the house: right here, on the Misano World Circuit, the rider number #11 has collected five wins since 2019. Will he be able to do it again? It will be crucial for him to get a good result in both the two races to defend his third place in the overall standings.

On the other hand, Alessio Finello is waiting for the “FIT TO RACE”: after undergoing surgery on his right foot in Austria, he took advantage of these days off to get in shape, recover and do physiotherapy. We will have to wait for doctors’ decision tomorrow to see the #72 back on track in the last double round of the 2022 electric championship.

The FELO Gresini Racing MotoE riders will hit the track for the first session on Friday at 08:25 (GMT +2)

MATTEO FERRARI #11 (3rd in the championship standings with 121,5 points)

“I am happy to be in Misano, racing at home will make us forget the misadventures of the last round. There will be a lot of guests, a lot of fans: coming here is always nice. There will be two races, and in all the past three years I have always managed to win at least one race: the goal is to return on the podium and win, to confirm my third position in the 2022 championship and the TOP3 in the overall standings in all MotoE seasons to date.”

ALESSIO FINELLO #72 (19th in the championship standings with 9 points)

“I arrive in Misano with the first goal to pass the medical check and be fit for the race, which is the most important thing, then we will see. I definitely won’t be in my best condition physically, but the recovery is going well, in one week I’ve really made a lot of steps forward. The warmth of the crowd, the excitement of racing at the team’s home track, having my sponsors, family and supporters by my side will definitely be magical, I really want to race this weekend. Also and especially as respect for my team, which has worked so hard all this year and I would love to be able to finish this championship on track, whatever the result will be. I know I will give my best, the desire will cover even the pain!”
