NAVARRO CHARGED UP FOR HOME RACE AT JEREZ

The long European leg of the Moto2 World Championship is about to start at ‘Circuito de Jerez’, the venue hosting the fourth Grand Prix of the 2017 season. Jorge Navarro hopes to well impress in front of his home crowd, after the good signs of improvement shown in Texas two weekends ago.

The Valencian series rookie has so far finished in the points twice out of three races and now hopes to do even better on the Andalusian track, where he has already ridden his Kalex machine during the pre-season official test – with some encouraging results.

Navarro, whose previously-injured left shoulder showed no sign of damage following the extensive medical check-up performed by Dr Mir after his return from Texas, is ready to put up a battle around the fast-flowing Spanish circuit. Moto2 action will get underway this Friday at 10:55 with the first free practice session.

JORGE NAVARRO #9

“I really look forward to race at Jerez, the first Grand Prix of the season and my home event! Last winter’s test there went really well and I had a good feeling with the bike around this track. We know what we’re doing good and we’re also aware of what we need to improve. We will try a softer tyre option and I will do my best to adapt quickly; I’m sure that racing in front of my home fans will give me extra motivation.
