NAVARRO DETERMINED TO MAKE AMENDS IN ARGENTINA

Jorge Navarro and the Federal Oil Gresini team are ready to compete in the second Grand Prix of the Moto2 World Championship season, which will be contested this weekend at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit in Argentina. After coming out empty-handed from the season opener in Qatar, the young Spanish rider will hope to score his first World Championship points at the twisty 4.8km racetrack.

Being one of the latest additions to the MotoGP calendar, the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit is not amongst Navarro’s favourite circuits, although last year the Valencian rider managed to score his first of five podium finishes in the 2016 season, a second place under wet conditions.

With weather forecast predicting rain over the weekend, Navarro might have a chance at testing his wet-riding skills at Termas de Rio Hondo circuit again, this time on board his Kalex Honda Moto2 machine. The first Moto2 free practice session will get underway at 10:55 local time (GMT -3).

 JORGE NAVARRO

“We’re heading to Argentina with the will of aiming at a great result especially after a difficult first Gran Prix in Qatar, which helped me learning a lot about the new category and the bike. I can’t say I really love the track, but last year I did really well there so I hope we can start things out the right way. The weather forecast does not appear to be the best, so we need to be ready for it. I’m really motivated and so is the team, so we cannot wait to show how competitive we can be.”
