NAVARRO MISSES OUT ON FRONT ROW AT RED BULL RING

Jorge Navarro has equalled his so-far best-ever Moto2 qualifying result by finishing fourth at the Red Bull Ring and only 0.041secs away from the front row of the grid.

It was not an easy day, however, as with the morning rain affected the team plans; qualifying, though, took place in dry conditions, and the Spanish rider was able to confirm the positive feelings of yesterday’s FP1.

The rider of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 finished the session with a best lap-time of 1’29.971secs, showing good improvement in the third split – while there is still  something to be improved in the second sector.

The battle for the Moto2 race win in Austria will begin at 12:20 local time (GMT +2).

4th – JORGE NAVARRO #9

“It has been a strange weekend due to the track conditions, with dry qualifying has surely been a blessing. We went out with the same settings as yesterday, we improved quickly and the only problem I had mid-turn was solved during the session. We will try to make one more step forward tomorrow but I think we are already competitive enough: we have the pace to stay with the front-runners.”
