A SMILING NAVARRO ENDS DAY ONE AMONG THE PROTAGONISTS

Jorge Navarro has found back the long-lost smile at the end of what was a very positive Friday at the Automotodrom Brno in Czech Republic. The Spanish rider of team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2worked nonstop in order to find the best set-up for his Kalex machine #9 as he finished both sessions near the top of the timesheets.

His 2’03.508secs lap-time was enough to place Navarro on a provisional second row spot on the grid for the tenth Grand Prix of the season – with a 0.390secs gap from second place – which gives him hope and fresh confidence for a strong qualifying tomorrow.

Qualifying practice will get underway as usual at 15:05, with tomorrow morning’s final free practice session to play a key role to test the soft compound on the longer run.

6th– JORGE NAVARRO #9

“This has been by far our best Friday and this morning I already had the right feeling with the bike. In the afternoon we tried something that somehow helped us find the right direction. We worked well with the hard tyre and when I put the soft tyre on, we improved by almost a second. We still have some little issues to solve, but I don’t remember being that high up in the timesheets during a racing weekend so I can only be happy. The idea is to use the soft tyre in the race, so we’ll have to work on the longer run tomorrow.”
