NAVARRO SHOWS GREAT SPEED IN JEREZ IRTA TEST

Navarro’s Moto2 rookie year with team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 team has started off on the right foot as the young Spaniard ends on a high note the three-day IRTA test at ‘Circuito de Jerez’ in southern Spain. The former CEV Moto3 runner-up has built speed upon speed in each and every session while vastly improving on the personal best time of 1’43.449 set twenty days ago on the same track.

Navarro worked hard with his crew on the general setup of his #9 Kalex machine as he continued his adaptation to the new category. On the second day, Jorge managed to break the 1’43s barrier and to finish as fifth fastest by logging in 1’42.376s.

The team led by Tommaso Raponi will return to action next week in Qatar for the final test before the season opener, which takes place at the Losail International Circuit in a fortnight’s time.

JORGE NAVARRO
“We have been improving our performance day after day, along with my understanding of the bike and how to ride depending on different factors: grip level, amount of fuel in the tank and so on. It was good to be quick straight from the get go, but there is still a lot to do both on the single lap and on the long run. I feel like we’re in the right direction and the team’s huge experience is surely helping me a lot. We have some ideas to further improve my feeling with the bike, so I’m confident we’ll be ready for the next test in Qatar.”
