UNPRODUCTIVE FRIDAY AT MOTEGI FOR NAVARRO

Jorge Navarro endured a complicated Friday at Twin Ring Motegi as the middleweight class of MotoGP had only few minutes of dry track in the opening day of action for the sixteenth round of the season.

In the morning session and with complicated track conditions, the rider of Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 Team completed only seven laps of the Motegi circuit and logged a best lap-time of 1’58.659 – without being able to make good use of any tyre choice. The afternoon session unfolded in a very similar way for the Spaniard, whose lap total in FP2 was only up to 12.

A lot of work awaits Navarro in FP3, which will get underway at 10:55 local time (GMT+9), while #JapaneseGP qualifying session for the red-and-white team will begin at 15:05.

15th– JORGE NAVARRO #9

“There’s not much to say other than that conditions were difficult. This morning it started to rain as soon as we took to the track, so the session turned out to be a waste of time as neither the slicks or the rains were useful. In the afternoon things were pretty much the same: we managed to lap with slick tyres despite some damp patches, but without being able to find a good feeling, and when we got back to the pits it started raining again. Few laps today mean a lot of work to do for tomorrow.
