NO Q2 FOR TEAM FEDERAL OIL AT MISANO

It has been a challenging weekend so far for Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 with a 19th and 28th position for Nicolò Bulega and Edgar Pons. Their performance drew to a close some minutes earlier than they had hoped for the two standard bearers Federal Oil who could not make it through Q1 and will line up in the rear part of the grid for the first of two Moto2 encounters at Misano.

The Italian rider, in particular, was not very lucky after showing promising speed both yesterday and this morning, after he suffered a highside at turn two which affected his qualifying performance. Fortunately for Bulega it turned out ‘only’ to be a scary moment, with a little headache and a painful right hand: he will therefore taking part in his home GP.

Not many positive news from the other side of the pit-box where Edgar Pons is struggling to find the right feeling with his Kalex machine #57 and he will be all the way down on the last row.

19th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11

“I so wanted to get into Q2 but I made a mistake, as I opened the throttle a bit too early and lost the bike. We need to check the bike a little but I am fine. Tomorrow there’ll be a lot of work to do and put together a good comeback. We need it.”

28th – EDGAR PONS #57

“What can I say, we are currently not in our best moment and unfortunately this morning’s crash didn’t help at all. We wouldn’t have made it into Q2 anyway but I lost precious track time to improve my experience with this bike. We will give our best tomorrow, at this time it will be crucial to work to be ready for the upcoming weekend.”
