TEAM FEDERAL OIL GRESINI DOES NOT SHINE IN QUALIFYING AT ARAGON

Edgar Pons was unable to make the difference in today’s qualifying at his home track, during the first of two back-to-back GPs at the MotorLand Aragon circuit for Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2. The Spanish rider, who well impressed yesterday with a fourth place in the two FP sessions, was only 16th today at the end of Q2 and therefore will head the sixth row of the grid in what is the 11th event of the season.

Until now, it has been a weekend to forget for Nicolò Bulega, who could not finish higher than 26th place in today’s #AragonGP qualifying. The Italian rider was really unlucky this morning as a crash prevented him from battling for a direct seed to Q2, and things did not go any better in Q1. Tomorrow, he will try to put together a great comeback in the Moto2 race set to begin at 13:20 local time (GMT +2).

16th– EDGAR PONS #57 (1’52.751)

“I’m not happy, even though I gave it all on track. The bike is not 100%, it moves a bit at the rear-end and that is limiting us a bit. We need to find some more stability with the bike for tomorrow, even though I must admit that without the crash in FP3 I would have had a bit more confidence in qualifying.”

26th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (1’53.541)

“We need to find a way to turn things around because it’s clear that we’re not even close to where we should and would like to be. The weekend was not going in the right direction and then the crash made things even more complicated. We’re working to be readier for the next GP.”
