OFF TO PORTIMAO FOR THE SECOND ROUND OF THE SEASON

It is already time to leave for the Team QJMOTOR GRESINI Moto2 that after a week’s break is on the road again: destination Algarve International Circuit, which has always been compared to a roller coaster for its particular and suggestive configuration. The two Gresini standard bearers have already shown in the tests to be fast in this circuit, especially Manuel Gonzalez, who tops the overall timesheets. After a first round in Qatar where the Spaniard fought for the podium until a few laps from the end, he is now ready to give it his all to bring home his first podium of the season.

Strong of his front row conquered in Qatar’s qualifying, Albert Arenas also wants to stand out at the Algarve circuit. Aiming to take advantage of the different sessions to work at his best with focus on the tires, he is looking forward to get out on track and put himself on the line, starting with the first free practice session at 09:50 a.m. Portuguese time.

MANUEL GONZALEZ #18

“Second race of the championship: I’ll arrive in Portugal with a huge desire to do well, better than in Qatar, where we finished the race nervous about the result, we knew we could do better. Here in Portimao, however, we have even more certainties: a good bike prepared during the tests with which we were fast, and a circuit where I have always been strong. We can bring home a good weekend, with the aim of conquering a podium, staying consistently in the front positions in all the sessions and fighting for the win on Sunday”.

ALBERT ARENAS #75

“For me Portimao has always been a beautiful, special track! We arrive prepared: the first race has allowed us to understand what we still need to work on and what our strengths are. We will definitely be competitive, but it will be crucial to take advantage of the practices to understand how to best exploit the tyres, which were the critical point in Qatar. I am looking forward to meet the team again and pick up the work where we left it off: we need to be consistent and continue to improve”.
