ONE POINT FOR ALCOBA, SALAČ FORCED TO LAST-LAP RETIREMENT

Race – #DutchGP It was a day to forget for Team Moto2 QJMOTOR GRESINI, with Filip Salač who from thirteenth place on the grid managed to keep a good rhythm and eventually joined the battle for the top ten. Unfortunately, a technical issue forced him to retire from the encounter on the last lap, as he was a few corners away from the chequered flag.

Jeremy Alcoba also had a difficult Sunday as he battled his way to the top 15 from 18th place on the grid. Despite the three-second penalty received for cutting turn 17, the Spanish rider still managed to finish 15th and bag home one point, thanks to the almost five-second margin on the rider who followed.

The two standard bearers of Team QJMOTOR GRESINI will have a change to reset in this summer break in order to return to action as charged up as possible at Silverstone, with the British GP taking place on the first week of August.

DNF – FILIP SALAČ #12

“We got to the grid with a completely different set-up to the one we used these days: we didn’t know what to expect but I think I liked it better even though it took me a few laps to regain confidence; afterwards I managed to be very quick and to have a similar pace to the guys at the front. Unfortunately, a technical problem forced us to retire on the last lap, it’s a pity, but it can happen. Now we think about Silverstone!”

15th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52

“I was expecting a lot more from myself in this race, especially pace wise. I didn’t manage to improve my rhythm and lost motivation. I’m very disappointed but the summer break is here now: we’ll have the necessary time to do a reset and arrive to Silverstone with a different mentality, more charged up, and able to prepare the second part of the season in the best way possible.”
