GOOD START FOR NAVARRO IN TEXAS

Jorge Navarro has had a positive first day at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas, where the third Grand Prix of the 2017 Moto2 World Championship is currently underway. The young Spanish rider was able to make a good step forward in the second free practice on board his Team Federal Oil Gresini Kalex Honda machine as he finished in 15th place courtesy of a 2’11.900secs lap-time.

In the afternoon’s session, the series rookie from La Pobla de Vallbona near Valencia in Spain was able to improve on his FP1 best time by 0.8secs and to narrow the gap to the leaders down to one second.

Navarro and his crew will focus on the long run during FP3, before battling for the best possible grid position in the third-race qualifying scheduled at 15:05 local time (GMT -5)

15º JORGE NAVARRO #9
“I felt good straight away this morning, despite being the first day of action here at Austin. The fact that I felt comfortable on the bike from the get go has given us more time to try some changes in the afternoon: some thing worked well, others didn’t, but in any case we were able to collect a good amount of data. I’m confident we’ll be able to improve further tomorrow especially with our race pace, but we can’t forget about qualifying: a good starting position here it’s extremely important.”
