SUMMER BREAK IS OVER: TIME TO RACE IN THE UK!

Silverstone – Race Preview After the long summer break, the Gresini Racing Moto2 riders are ready to get back on track for the second part of the season. The first run will be in Silverstone, which with more than sixty years of history, following a series of improvements, is now one of the fastest and longest tracks of the 2022 calendar.

Filip Salač can’t wait anymore to get back on his bike again: in the last round before the summer break he managed to cross the finish line in the Top 10 for the first time in this category. The desire to replicate this result is huge, but on this track, which is among the longest in the championship, it is easy to make a mistake: it will be essential to be fast from the very first session.

After a complicated first part of the season, we find Alessandro Zaccone more confident: the good feeling obtained in Assen and the conquest of his first Q2, gave the rider number #61 some more awareness of the results he can achieve with his Kalex. At Silverstone he will restart from there, with the aim of crossing the finish line in the top15.

Moto2 track action starts on Friday  at 10:55 (GMT + 1)

FILIP SALAČ # 12

“This year we had quite a good start, after winter tests and practices in Qatar we had excellent sensations and we were collecting good results. Then in the race I crashed and even in the following weekends a mistake of mine or a problem with the front brake or crashes always compromised the final result. In the last three races we managed to take a big step forward instead: we consistently managed to be in the top 10 in all the sessions of the last weekend before the summer break. We will start from there to show what our true potential is. I’ll try to be fast already in the first free practices even if it won’t be easy at Silverstone: the track is as beautiful as it is difficult, it’s really long and it’s easy to make a mistake. It will be the first time for me on this track with a Moto2 and I’m looking forward to it, there will be many fans and we will definitely have fun! ”

ALESSANDRO ZACCONE # 61

“After the summer break, we begin the second part of the championship with positive feelings: in the weekend at Assen we were able to take a step forward and our first Q2 of the season. We were fast all weekend in all conditions, fixing many small details. We will start again from here, trying to find the same positive sensations here at Silverstone too, a track I’ve never raced on. Studying the circuit it looks really beautiful but also difficult, it’s really long! The first part of the season was rather complicated: I had never done a world championship in a category as difficult as Moto2 and I knew it would not be easy. We’ve been through many ups and downs, and got also some small satisfactions. Now we must try to continue to grow with the aim of constantly reaching the points zone in this second part of the championship. We have to work hard and we also hope for a bit more luck! “
