POINTS FOR BOTH GRESINI RIDERS AT SEPANG

It was a positive Sunday for Team QJMOTOR Gresini Moto2 who saw both standard bearers claiming points in the third-last race of the season at the Sepang International Circuit. Following a challenging Saturday, in which Jeremy Alcoba qualified only 21st, Sunday was the day of the comeback, as the Spanish rider started the race really well and was 16th at the end of lap one. He continued his mission up to the finish line, which he crossed in 12th place.

Filip Salač had a much more difficult start as he had to avoid a rider who crashed out at turn two during the opening lap, losing plenty of positions. That was the moment his comeback began, with the Czech rider finishing fourteenth and scoring two points; he is currently rounding out the top ten with 110 points.

12th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52

“We had a consistent pace in this race, but we were missing something as I struggled staying in the opponents’ slipstream on the straight, but I’m happy because I gave it all. There’s still margin for improvement, and we’ll work on it for the next race.”

14th – FILIP SALAČ #12

“It was quite a difficult race. I did a good start but there was a crash at turn two that forced me to run wide to avoid the rider and found myself at the back afterwards. The team had worked well beforehand and made some changes to the bike that allowed me to have a good feeling with it. We’re still missing a bit of speed, but we’ll work on it ahead of Qatar and Valencia, which are two of my favorite tracks. Let’s see what happens!”
