POLE POSITION FOR FERRARI AT LE MANS

Team MotoE FELO Gresini Racing  had an excellent start to the weekend with Matteo Ferrari who is immediately among the protagonists at Le Mans. The rider #11 topped the time sheets  in the combined times of today’s two free practice session and thus gained direct access to Q2. And this is when Ferrari was able to make a difference: under surely not easy conditionS, with plenty of wind and a few drops of rain, he logged a 1’40.971secs time which gave him the first pole position of the season.

Alessio Finello will start this weekend’s two races from row five after improving session after session. His 1’42.642secs lap-time was not enough to make it to Q2. The Turin-born rider will line up on the 14th spot of the grid, with the first encounter scheduled for tomorrow at 12:10 local time and the second at 16:10: his target will be the top ten.

1st 🎯– MATTEO FERRARI #11 (1’40.971)

“Im very happy, for being the first Friday of the racing season it wasn’t too bad! We were quick in the combined times of the two FP sessions and then I was able to further improve in qualifying, weather conditions were difficult and I tried to do my best. I’m very happy with this pole position! Now we need to focus on doing well tomorrow, we’ll have two races and a new format compared to previous years but it’ll be better for me as race one will help me getting into the rhythm for the second one.”

14th – ALESSIO FINELLO #72 (1’42.642)

“We managed to make a further step forward in qualifying. I will start tomorrow’s race from fourteenth position and I’m aware we can improve some more. A good start will be crucial and we’ll need to make up some positions. The goal is the top ten. We can do two good races but they’re eight laps each, so we need to be quick from the get go.”
