MOTO2 2023 SEASON BEGINS WITH A BACK-TO-BACK: PORTUGAL AND ARGENTINA

The first two rounds of the 2023 season are just around the corner as the very first race will happen to be this weekend in Portimao at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve with its 15 corners – nine right, six left, and the incredible undulation of the track and the unique downhill descend into Turn 1. After the race, the Team Moto2 QJMOTOR Gresini Racing will immediately fly off to Argentina to race on the Latin America’s most modern, safe and vibrant circuit: Termas de Rio Hondo.

It is time for redemption for Filip Salač, who after the unlucky races of 2022 in Portugal and Argentina as rookie, is now ready to fight, with a lot more experience, more motivation and 5 days of test just few days ago where he tried the new Triumph engine with positive feelings.

New bike, new team and a new chance to live the dream in the middle-weight category for Jeremy Alcoba. The tests just made in Jerez and Portimao have been fundamental for him to create a good base in order to begin the new season in the best condition.

Let the show begin!

 FILIP SALAČ #12

“II can’t wait to feel again butterflies in my stomach in this race weekend, it is a feeling I’ve been missing so much. We did a good job during the test, the bike is ready for the race: our target is to score some points, trying to take it easy as the season will be long and I don’t want to make stupid mistake in the first round. In Argentina we will have the same goal, and to do so it will be essential to find a good set-up”.

JEREMY ALCOBA #52

“Besides the days of test, there is still a lot of work to do. Here in Portimao we where finally able to find a good setup and close the gap with the best riders: that makes me think we are ready to begin this race weekend. It’s the first race of the year so I want to keep calm as the 2023 championship is going to be long. In Argentina instead I don’t know what to expect: last year it has been a difficult weekend for me as it was my first time in that track. This time we will be more prepared.”
