#PORTUGUESEGP: BULEGA CURRENTLY IN Q2, PONS HARD AT WORK

It was a positive day of free practice for Nicolò Bulega and Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2. The Italian did a good job in the opening two Portuguese sessions as he is got within the group eligible for the Q2 direct access during the final minutes of the afternoon FP.

The 1’43.488secs time places him in 12th position, but only a bunch of milliseconds from today’s leading positions. A bit more complicated the situation for Edgar Pons who is only 22nd and with a significant gap to fill. The Spaniard logged a 1’44.293 and with the last of the ‘Q2 group’ seven tenths of a second away, he will need to push hard in tomorrow’s last free practice, scheduled at 10:55 local time (GMT +0).

12th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (1’43.488)

“A quite positive Friday, even though we could have done a little better. Unfortunately at the start of the second session we went out with some different settings which didn’t work as expecting, so only in the final part of FP2 we went back to something that suit me better. It was important to get in the Q2 group, as stronger winds are expected for tomorrow morning. Better to be ready, and tomorrow we can do a good job.”

22nd– EDGAR PONS #57 (1’44.293)

“It’s a challenging circuit set-up-wise and we’re working hard to find the best solutions. This morning I wasn’t feeling very comfortable, but in the afternoon we got better and found the right direction, so we can surely do well tomorrow morning. The goal is to get in Q2 and I think we can do it.”
