FIRST DAY DISCOVERING THE CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS

Free Practice – #AmericasGP Following a challenging weekend in Argentina, where all the action was squeezed into two days, the action is back to the usual routine with two free practice sessions on the Friday. The only difference this time is that it was indeed the intermediate class to open the show at the Circuit of The Americas.

Filip Salač was surely not at his best due to a flue and the subsequent antibiotics he has to take – for another week. The Czech rider was still able to take to the track and finish the day in 17th place with a 1.383secs gap to the top.

Another new track awaited Alessandro Zaccone, who was fascinated by this track, which is both exciting and difficult to learn. The rider #61 quickly got up to speed as he improved his personal best lap-time by two seconds across the two sessions; he still has a lot to learn and it surely will not be a walk in the aprk for him, also due to the fact that he is also not 100% fit. He was 24th at the end of the day.

17th – FILIP SALAČ #12 (2’10.538)

“Quite a difficult day for us, even though in the end we managed to set a decent time anyway. My fitness condition is still not perfect, but I hope I’ll feel better tomorrow!”

24th – ALESSANDRO ZACCONE #61 (2’12.014)

“Another new track for me, a beautiful but quite difficult one at the same time. I’m learning lap by lap, up to the point that I was able to improve by two seconds my morning time. We’re 2.8 seconds from the top now so there’s still a lot of work, if my physical condition will allow it. We will try to improve further tomorrow and try to do well in qualifying.”
