SMELL OF HOME SWEET HOME FOR TEAM KÖMMERLING GRESINI
After a two-week break it is time for MotoGP again, with Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 ready for two all-Italian back-to-back events at the Misano World Circuit, the home circuit for the #GresiniFamily.
Gabriel Rodrigo and Jeremy Alcoba get to the two events with high morale and will to do well. If for the Argentine the nearly-missed podium in Austria will be the starting point to build upon for the remaining of the season, for the Spaniard there are many reasons to try to surprise everyone…
Fresh from a contract extension with Team Gresini, Alcoba suffered his first crash of the season in what was a Spielberg to forget. Furthermore, he will have to test his quick-learning skills once again on a track he has only seen on TV or ‘ridden’ upon with the PS4. There will be a lot to learn for the rookie #52 before getting on track from 9am local time (GMT +2) this Friday, with the first free practice sessions of the ‘Gran Premio di San Marino e Riviera di Rimini’.
GABRIEL RODRIGO #2 (8th in the championship standings with 48 points)
“After the last race, in which we solved the issues that prevented us from being as competitive as we’d liked, we get to Misano with great desire to do well. This is a track I like and that suits my riding style. I did well there in the last two years and two back-to-back weekends will surely help our progression. We need to leave this circuit with a sweet taste in our mouth and we’ll do the best to make it happen.”
JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (12th in the championship standings with 30 points)
“Finally we get to a circuit I don’t know, and I must say I’m excited about it. This is the team’s home track and it will be my very first time there. I played a bit with the PlayStation at this track, but not too much. I watched some races as well, but during this break I just tried to distract myself a little from racing in order to get to these two events in the right frame of mind. We will try to race at the front, but if it doesn’t happen it won’t be due to fitness, because I kept training.”
