Q2 WITHIN REACH FOR TEAM FEDERAL OIL GRESINI MOTO2 RIDERS

#PortugueseGP Free Practice. It was not an easy first day at the Algarve International Circuit for Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 with Nicolò Bulega and Fabio Di Giannantonio setting nearly identical lap-times and finishing 17th and 19th, respectively.

The #11 was the less lucky of the two, who saw his top-ten-worthy cancelled by race direction. Fabio Di Giannantonio, instead, suffered grip issues on top of some minor difficulty under braking.

Moto2 proceedings will resume tomorrow morning at 10:55 local time (GMT +1) with the FP3 session.

17th –  NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (1’44.446)

“I’m quite happy because we did a good job and set competitive lap-times without taking advantage of any slipstream. Unfortunately I got my good lap cancelled and that would have put me in seventh/eighth position. It’s a shame, but I know we can make it into Q2. Track conditions should help us, but we must be aggressive in FP3 if we want to be among the protagonists in the afternoon.”

19th –  FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21 (1’44.453)

“Quite a difficult day. We started this morning with some issues and in the afternoon things didn’t improve much. We struggle under braking and we lack something grip-wise at the rear-end. A bad day, simply put. Still, it was only a Friday so tomorrow we will try to get into Q2 directly and if not, we’ll do it through Q1. It’s just Friday.”
