CHALLENGING QUALIFYING FOR NAVARRO AT COTA

It was not the type of day Jorge Navarro was expecting today at Circuit of the Americas, as the Spanish rider finished qualifying in nineteenth place – with more than a second gap from pole position.

This was a very complicated QP for the Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 rider, who found his personal best time during his first outing (2’11.594secs) but was unable to improve since.

A finish in the points and the top-10 are still within reach for Navarro, who has the pace to aim at a good result in the third Moto2 race of the year, which will get underway tomorrow at 12:20 local time (GMT -5).

19th – JORGE NAVARRO #9

“It’s been a very difficult day. We made some changes to the bike set-up which didn’t go how they should have. We did improve the feeling with the rear-end, but we lost grip and overall feeling in the process. There’s a lot of work to do with the team, as well as with Kalex and Ohlins in order to see which direction to take tomorrow. We’re not too far in the end, but to be starting from 19th place on the grid was not what I was expecting. We will try to push from the get go tomorrow and get a good result.”
