ROW FIVE AND SEVEN FOR TEAM FEDERAL OIL AT VALENCIA

With 16 riders in just half a second, Moto2 qualifying at #ValenciaGP has been among the most complicated sessions of the season. Nicolò Bulega was able to set a great lap-time in 1’34.899secs, while improving feeling and pace from yesterday, but his 0.481secs gap from pole setter Manzi will force him to start the race all the way back to 14th place.

Things were even worse for Edgar Pons: this morning, the Spanish rider worked on his race pace but was unable to improve his feeling with the bike, which is still not positive. This translated also in a sub-par performance in Q1 (he was eighth) and therefore he will line up in 22nd place on the grid.

The penultimate race of the season for Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 will get underway tomorrow at 12:20 local time (GMT +1)

14th – NICOLÒ BULEGA (1’34.899)

“It was a more positive than negative day. We were fast, but it wasn’t enough. The negative feeling with the bike from yesterday is gone. Today we clinched the access to Q2 and in qualifying with battled for a good spot. We’re slightly above four tenths of a second from pole and with a tenth less we could have been on row two… but we’re on row four. Tomorrow it will be a very difficult race, we mustn’t make any mistake.”

22nd – EDGAR PONS (1’35.176)

“Unfortunately qualifying didn’t go well. During FP3 we tried some adjustments which pushed us further away from the perfect set-up and in Q1 we went back to what we knew, but there wasn’t much more we could do in 15 minutes. The race pace is good, so we can have a good race.”
