ROW FIVE FOR BULEGA IN PORTUGAL AS DIGGIA FOLLOWS CLOSE

#PortugueseGP qualifying. A challenging Saturday for Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 with Nicolò Bulega and Fabio Di Giannantonio unable to finish any higher than 15th and 16th on the grid for the first European Grand Prix of the season.

As usual in the intermediate class, all riders were within a split second of each other: with only a seven-tenth gap from pole position, Bulega ends up on the fifth row, while Diggia was ‘slowed down’ by an ECU problem. Only two laps for him and the best possible result, given the circumstances.

Moto2 will wrap up tomorrow’s racing activities for MotoGP, with the last race scheduled at 14:30 local time (GMT +1).

15th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (1’43.676)

“We must understand why we struggled so much today compared to yesterday, but also this morning. Maybe the conditions were not ideal, but it was the same for everybody, so we need to keep working to fix these issues. We want to battle for other types of results.”

16th – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21 (1’43.744)

“Unfortunately, today we had a problem in qualifying which prevented us to play our cards right. We did our best in the only two laps available, but it wasn’t enough. We must stay focused and try to get ready for tomorrow: it will be important to put together a good comeback. I haven’t feeling at my best physically speaking in the last two days, but I’m sure I will be 100% fit tomorrow.”
