FERRARI BOUNCES BACK TO TOP SIX, GOOD DEBUT FOR MANTOVANI

#SpanishGP race. A positive Sunday draws to a close for team Indonesian E-Racing Gresini MotoE with its riders Matteo Ferrari and Andrea Mantovani sixth and eighth, respectively, at the finish line.

The latter, who made his official MotoE race debut today, did well in finding the right race pace straight away and put together a great battle in the middle of the pack: he also had a couple of moments, but still he came away with eighth and a great feeling aboard the Energica Ego Corsa #9. Matteo Ferrari did an outstanding job as he went from 18th on the grid to sixth.

The 2020 MotoE runner up has therefore scored some important points for his title chase: he and ‘Manto’ will re-join the team in a fortnight’s time for the second event of the season at Le Mans, northern France.

6th – MATTEO FERRARI #11

“From last on the grid to sixth at the flag is an excellent result, and I also lost a bit of power on the last lap, otherwise I would have finished fifth. We did a really good race and I must thank the team who gave me a perfect bike, especially under braking. We must build up on today’s result because we want to battle for the title and if we work this way we can be at the front.”

8th – ANDREA MANTOVANI #9

“It was a good race, but also a difficult one. It was a completely new experience as I did miss the race simulation. I did push hard from the beginning but the front tucked two-three times, unexpectedly, so I had to ride a bit safer in order to bring home a good result. I want to thank the team who did an incredible job.”
