RODRIGO LOOKING TO MAKE AMENDS AT SPIELBERG

A year ago, Alcoba replaced an injured Rodrigo in the Austrian GP, and by doing so made his world championship debut. This year Jeremy Alcoba and Gabriel Rodrigo will be alongside each other in the pit-box of Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 for the fifth and sixth rounds of the Moto3 World Championship.

Brno, which was positive of many levels for both riders – excluding Rodrigo’s race outcome – has been a good proving ground ahead of the two back-to-back rounds at Spielberg: a track that the Argentine likes thoroughly (although he has last raced there in 2018) and that Alcoba hopes to like especially after the positive results achieved so far this year.

GABRI RODRIGO #2 (9th in the championship standings with 30 points)

“We need to push the reset button and get to Austria with great motivation. This is a track I like a lot even though I missed the race there last year due to injury. The weather also plays its part, so we’ll take it into account, and the goal will surely be to leave the unfortunate Czech GP behind.”

JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (10th in the championship standings with 28 points)

“Last year I struggled quite a bit in Austria, even though it was all about adapting to the series on many levels. I think we can do well because this is a ‘stop & go’ that I should find myself comfortable to ride on. It will be two races so there’s time to work well. I must say I don’t have fond memories from last year, but we’ll try to do well. We need to keep our heads down and keep going in the right direction.”
