SECOND ROW FOR RODRIGO AT LE MANS

Given how things were shaping up today, Gabriel Rodrigo’s second row claimed in today’s qualifying felt like pole position. The Argentine had to miss the last fifteen minutes of FP3 due to a penalty, which cost him the direct seed to Q2. If that was not enough, a slide towards the end of Q1 only barely allowed him to make it through the final qualifying session.

Today’s sixth place surely gives him an excellent starting position on the #FrenchGP grid, with the Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 rider still searching for his first podium of the season.

A weekend to forget so far for rookie Jeremy Alcoba, who is dealing with a track on which he is yet to be able to exploit the potential of his #52 Honda machine. Tomorrow he will need a significant comeback, although the Spaniard has got us used to these types of performances already.

The race will start at a slightly different time tomorrow, compared to usual: 11:20 local time (GMT +2).

6th – GABRIEL RODRIGO #2

“It’s been quite a stressful day: a crash, lack of track-time this morning, Q1 and so on. So overall this is a positive sixth place even though tomorrow’s race won’t be easy. The track can be quite tricky and we need to work in this direction in order to be ready. Generally speaking, though, I’m happy.”

25th – JEREMY ALCOBA

“I’m not happy at all; something is not working and we cannot understand what is the problem. We’re working on finding the right feeling and it’s clear that there’ll be a lot to do to put together a comeback. Our race will start with the warm-up, with the hope to find back the right direction.”
