RODRIGO ON FRONT ROW AT ARAGON

#AragonGP qualifying. The Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3 is back in the spotlight at Aragon as Gabriel Rodrigo claims the second spot on the grid (less than two tenths away from pole) while Jeremy Alcoba will line up on row three.

After successfully addressing with the team the chattering issue that affected his performance at Silverstone, Gabriel Rodrigo could ride at his very best at the Aragon track, and was one of the only three riders able to lap under the 1’58secs barrier.

Jeremy Alcoba also did an excellent job as he improved his personal best lap-time by 1.5seconds and was able to lap consistently in the mid 1’58secs. He was able to get the Q2 admission at the very last minute and, with a seventh place at the end of qualifying, he can definitely be among the protagonists of tomorrow’s race, which gets underway at 11:00 local time (GMT +2).

2nd – GABRIEL RODRIGO #2 (1’57.905)

“We did a great lap already in the first outing with the hard rear option and a used front tyre and that would have been enough for a second-row start. Then with the new tyre and without slipstream I managed to be second-fastest.  The grid positioning in Moto3 is relatively important, but here we have different pace and feeling compared to Silverstone. A huge thank you to the team because they worked incredibly hard and well, as they turned the bike around and now the chattering issues are gone.”

7th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (1’58.362)

“We are working quite well and the bike is responding as good. I have to say we still lack a little bit of feeling so we’ll need to do a good job in tomorrow’s warm up. We can still do a good race. We may have qualified better, but my lap wasn’t a perfect one.”
