ROUND 13: ROAD TO AUSTRIA

Austria – Race Preview The Gresini Racing Moto2 team is ready to get back on track after a week of break. We are in Austria, at the Red Bull Ring: a 4,348 m long circuit built in 1997; a new challenge for our riders: the track will in fact present a new layout this weekend, where turn 2 splits into a chicane with turn 2a and turn 2b.

Filip Salač arrives from the UK with positive feelings after achieving his best result in the Moto2 category. This weekend he will focus above all on the braking point: after having found an excellent feeling with his Kalex during the SilverstoneGP, the rider number #12 feels he can improve even more, in order to be able to conquer another top10 in what he considers to be a  second home-race.

Alessandro Zaccone is also coming from a positive weekend: he will use the free practice sessions to work on the race pace and continue to grow, with the aim of crossing the finish line in the point zone. Moto2 track action starts on Friday at 10:55 (GMT + 2) with the first free practice session.

FILIP SALAČ # 12

“After Silverstone the feeling with the bike is amazing, the bike is perfect. Now I have to improve a bit on thee breaking point in Austria, where I’ll also have to learn the new layout. The track is not among the most difficult of the championship and for me it is a bit like the home race and I will try to stay in the top 10 consistently throughout the weekend. I can’t wait to get back on track, to have fun and work as hard as ever!“

ALESSANDRO ZACCONE # 61

“I am really happy with the last race weekend at Silverstone, we have found a good working method and now we are quite fast. What we have to improve now is the race pace, which will be  our main goal here in Austria. It will not be easy to find the best set-up, we will have to work a lot. I’m very curious to see the new chicane, it will surely be fun!”
