SACHSENRING-ASSEN TO BOUNCE BACK
Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 is back on the road for two more back-to-back rounds in Germany and Holland for rounds number eight and nine of the Moto2 World Championship.
The two tracks are surely favourable for the riding styles of Fabio Di Giannantonio and Nicolò Bulega: the rider #21 narrowly missed on a German podium finish in 2019 (the last time the series raced at the track) while in the Netherlands he was 2nd at the finish line in 2016 (in Moto3); the #11 was fourth in the Moto3 race at the Sachsenring in 2017 and three consecutive front-row starts between 2016 and 2018.
There are some changes in the Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 team set-up from Sachsenring onwards in order to further optimise the teamwork.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21 (5th in the championship standings – 60 points)
“We come from a quite challenging time with two DNFs in the last two races… We were very competitive at Mugello, while at Montmeló we surely lacked something. It will be important to find the right direction at the Sachsenring and then continue on the same path in Holland in order to end this first half of the season on a high note. We only must work hard, because I don’t think we are not missing anything major and the level of both myself and the bike is extremely high. We have to work and capitalise, which is something we missed in the last outings.”
NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (26th in the championship standings – 5 points)
“I did some R&R to recover from the right shoulder issue and also did some physiotherapy. These two back-to-back rounds are especially important as I like both tracks and I did well there in the past, so it’s important to get there 100% fit. Obviously we’ll only know how the shoulder really feels after FP1, but we have made some improvements over the last days. It’ll be important to keep our heads down in order to go ‘on holiday’ with some good results under our belts.”
