TOP TEN FOR SALAČ IN JAPANESE GP, DNF FOR ZACCONE

RACE – #JapaneseGP The sun finally shone on the Twin Ring Motegi – after Saturday’s treacherous rain – with team Gresini Racing Moto2 on track for the sixteenth race of the season. Filip Salač is back in the points after crossing the line in tenth place (from the second row of the grid), with the Czech rider bagging six points and sitting 21st in the standings.

It was a short race, on the other hand, for Alessandro Zaccone, who found himself in the gravel trap during lap five after a coming together with an opponent. The rider #61, who raced for the first time in Japan this weekend, is still experiencing some issues under braking: he will try to make some adjustments with the team ahead of the next round in Thailand.

10th – FILIP SALAČ #12

“A very difficult race: I didn’t get a good start and lost some positions immediately – and was down in ninth place at the end of the first lap. During lap three, the front-end tucked and almost crashed, an incident that cost me some more positions while I also lost touch with the front group. I found myself in a battle with a couple of other riders whom I was able to overtake during the final lap and defend my top-ten position. I pushed a lot in the final part of the race, but overall I’m not happy with my race; I’m really sorry that I was unable to give all I had in every lap – I was struggling a bit under braking. Now we need to think about the upcoming races!”

DNF – ALESSANDRO ZACCONE #61

“Unfortunately I crashed after a coming together with another rider. I’m really disappointed because I’m struggling a lot under braking: I got passed by a lot of riders in the early laps because I can’t get my bike stopped. We will try some changes to the brakes in Thailand, hoping to address the issue.”
