TOP TEN FOR SALAČ ON OPENING FREE PRACTICE DAY

Free Practice – #BritishGP After a long summer break, both Gresini Racing Moto2 standard bearers are back on track for their first experience of Silverstone in the category.

Filip Salač had a positive start to the weekend as he used the first session to reacquaint himself with the motorcycle and gain some fresh confidence: his strategy worked well, as he finished FP2 in sixth place. His 2’05.414secs time gives him the provisional direct seed to Q2.

Alessandro Zaccone also had some positive feelings as he improved lap by lap and managed to better his performance by two seconds as the opening day drew to a close. The rider #61 is happy with the work done today: he laid a solid basis ahead of tomorrow as he will try to make it into Q2 – which is currently seven tenths of a second away.

6th – FILIP SALAČ #12 (2’05.414)

“It was not easy to find back the right confidence after a month away from riding this bike, but the morning session worked well for that. We continue our work plan in the afternoon without changing tyres and we lapped more than the race distance with a positive feeling and good lap times. I’m happy, as we also managed to set our best time, so I’m ready for tomorrow!”

19th – ALESSANDRO ZACCONE #61 (2’06.412)

“I’m happy with this first day at Silverstone; in FP2 I managed to improve by 2.4secs compared to the first session and get better lap after lap. I like the track: I still need to improve something but considering this is the first time I race at this track I can say I’m happy as I’m less than two seconds away from the top. We will keep working in this direction and we’re confident ahead of tomorrow!”
