SALAČ NINTH AT THE FINISH LINE AT JEREZ

Race – #SpanishGP Filip Salač had a blistering start from 13th place of the grid and was sixth at the end of the opening lap. Then, due to the rising temperature and the decrease of feeling with the front-end, the Czech rider had a harder time maintaining the pace but still cross the line ninth, for seven more points that guarantee him the sixth place in the standings – 12 points away from the top three.

Jeremy Alcoba had a much more complicated race. The Spanish rider, starting from the 19th position, struggled to find the rhythm but still managed to recover a few positions, and was eventually out of the points for only two tenths. There will be a day of testing on Tuesday, in which the #52 will try and recover the feeling with the bike ahead of Le Mans.

9th  – FILIP SALAČ #12

“I’m very happy with this race result: we struggled a lot this weekend. To be starting from row five, thirteenth place and be sixth after a lap means that we did a good job. We knew we would have struggled a bit more in Jerez, so this ninth place is a positive result for us, it’s like a top five for us. It was a difficult race, I still wasn’t 100% with the front-end but compared to yesterday we made a big step forward. I’m happy there will be a test day here on Tuesday that will allow us to try a few things. I would like to thank the team for the great work done this weekend, we bag seven more points for the championship and I’m happy with that.”

16th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52

“I was expecting a lot more from this race; we had a top-ten yesterday and top-ten was within reach. After a few laps in which I set times comparable to practice, I just couldn’t keep the pace: I struggled to make the bike turn in the fast corners, which is something we experienced throughout the whole weekend. I’m disappointed with myself as I was hoping to be quicker and get a better feeling. We will have a test on Tuesday in which we’ll try something for Le Mans.”
