SALAČ SEVENTH IN FRIDAY COMBINED FP TIMES
Free Practice – #AustrianGP The opening day of action at Spielberg started well for Team Moto2 QJMOTOR GRESINI who saw Filip Salač third with a 1’34.567secs lap-time. Unfortunately in the afternoon, due to the higher temperatures encountered in the afternoon, he was unable to improve his single-lap performance: the Czech rider, who finished seventh in the combined times of today’s two free practice sessions, will need to work in this area ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying, in which he will likely encounter the same type of condition as in FP2.
Jeremy Alcoba had a challenging day as he struggled to find the pace in both free practice sessions and was 19th at the end, with the best time set in the morning. The rider #52 will need to work hard in FP3 if he wishes to get into Q2 from the main door, as he is currently two tenths away from it right now.
7th – FILIP SALAČ #12 (1’34.567)
“We had a solid first session, we had fun and the bike was working really well. Temperatures rose in FP2 and the feeling with the front-end of the bike worsened, so we didn’t manage to be quick. We’ll keep working for tomorrow and let’s see how far we can go!”
19th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (1’35.455)
“I was expecting a lot more from today, from myself and the bike. We worked hard but the result isn’t there yet. The goal is still to gain direct access to Q2 in tomorrow’s free practice and we’re not too far away, but we still need to work on the feeling. We’ll do our best to make another step forward tomorrow and then a good qualifying.”
