SALAČ TWELFTH IN ENGLISH QUALIFYING

Qualifying – #BritishGP Rain was the true protagonist in what was a most typical English Saturday, in which both standard bearers of Team Moto2 QJMOTOR GRESINI RACING struggled to find the right feeling with their motorcycles. Filip Salač had already sealed the access to Q2 in yesterday’s free practice; he then managed to log a 2’19.041secs lap-time that gave him the twelfth slot on the starting grid. Tomorrow’s race will likely take place in dry conditions, meaning anything can happen.

Jeremy Alcoba also had a challenging time: he tried everything he could to get into Q2, but after battling up to the last corner he could not make it for only three tenths of a second. He will start tomorrow’s race from nineteenth place on the grid: a comeback encounter awaits him, with the top 15 as the target.

12th – FILIP SALAČ #12 (2’19.041)

“This day has also drawn to a close; a Saturday of rain, with the morning really, really wet on the track while in the afternoon it was a little better. It was a challenging day. Tomorrow we’ll start the race from twelfth place on the grid, in what’ll likely be a dry race: let’s see how it goes!”

19th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (2’19.564)

“I’m quite disappointed; I was expecting a bit more from today. I gave my best: maybe I made a mistake choosing to go out with the used tyre in Q1, I was expecting more rain on the track but it didn’t turn out like that, there was plenty of grip. The track improved during the last laps, I tried to push a bit harder but I was sliding and that took the confidence away for me to push and take away those three tenths that cost us Q2. All in all I’m happy with the work done, but doing our best wasn’t enough.”
