SECOND BACK-TO-BACK TRIP FOR TEAM FEDERAL OIL
The European season enters its key part with Mugello and Montmeló as back-to-back rounds. Team Federal Oil Moto2 gets to Italy with fresh confidence thanks to a Di Giannantonio who has always been a protagonist in this 2021 season so far (one podium and one win) and to Nicolò Bulega, who finally managed to score his first points in France.
Mugello will be the top event for the two Italian riders, who both love this track. Here Fabio Di Giannantonio has already scored three podiums there in Moto3 (with Gresini Racing) and even in the only Moto2 race he took part there (in 2019, his rookie year) he managed to finish in the top ten. Nicolò Bulega also had some good results at this track, especially in Moto3, but he also managed to show his talent in Moto2 with a fourth place in qualifying the last time the series raced at Mugello.
Barcelona will be a whole different story with a slightly modified track but also a good test completed last week, which they can both count on. Last year, Di Giannantonio stepped on the podium (3rd place) while Bulega’s best result is a fifth place in 2016 (Moto3).

“How much did I miss Mugello… that is THE track. With the Barcelona test still in my veins, I’m really looking forward to use all we’ve learned. Too bad we will be still without the crowd, but to race there is always an exciting thing. We want to be among the protagonists both at Mugello and Barcelona, which is also among my favourite tracks, and we’ve also been very quick there during testing.”
NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (23rd in the championship standings – 3 points)
“Even without the crowd, Mugello is still the top track and I’m charged up for this weekend. We have to build on the result in Le Mans, which is our starting point: we will have to keep improving from there. Barcelona is also a track I like, we have completed 200 laps last week during testing and we will have plenty of data to make good use of during the Grand Prix. We need to take one race at the time and try to find the right confidence and results already in Italy.”
