SILVERSTONE AWAITS WITH FRESH MOTIVATIONS
The Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3 has reached the shores of Great Britain as the Moto3 World Championship gears up for the 11th event of the 2021 season – taking place at Silverstone. The last time the Gresini Moto3 squad raced at this venue, the then young prospect Jeremy Alcoba was replacing the then injured Gabriel Rodrigo.
The two standard bearers of the Faenza-based squad had plenty of opportunities to share the track later on, and both are looking forward to making amends for the sub-par results of the two Austrian rounds.
Moto3 proceedings will begin at 9:00 local time (GMT +1) on Friday, while the race will get underway at 11:20 two days later.
JEREMY ALCOBA #52
(10th in the championship standings – 60 points)
“This is a track that suits well both the Honda and my riding style, so I’m eager to race there. We haven’t raced there last year, meaning 2019 was my only time at the track – but I surely have good memories of that experience. Let’s hope it won’t rain much so that we can have fun again on the bike after two difficult races.”
GABRIEL RODRIGO #2
(11th in the championship standings – 59 points)
“We come from a very difficult 14-day period so we cannot wait to try and make amends at Silverstone, a circuit I like a lot and where I did well in the past. I haven’t raced there in a while: in my first year with Gresini I had to sit out the race due to injury, while last year it was cancelled due to Covid… I’m really looking forward to understanding if can be competitive there especially in light of the good feeling I had on the bike in the last race.”
