SUBPAR PERFORMANCE AT JEREZ

Qualifying – #SpanishGP Team Moto2 QJMOTOR GRESINI RACING had a subpar qualifying with Filip Salač unable to make the difference despite the good pace showed in free practice, as he wrapped up day two in 13th place.

Jeremy Alcoba also had a challenging time as he missed the direct seed to Q2 for only 161 milliseconds. He had another go at it in Q1 but his 1’41.971 lap-time was not quick enough and the Spaniard will line up in 19th place on the grid. The comeback attempt by Team Moto2 QJMOTOR GRESINI RACING will begin tomorrow 13:15 local time (GMT +2).

13th – FILIP SALAČ #12 (1’41.801)

“It was a really difficult day for us. The level of the competition is really high here at Jerez. We knew already from last year that hot conditions don’t favour us: we’re struggling to find the feeling with the front-end, I had a hard time adapting to these conditions. The race is tomorrow however and our pace isn’t bad: conditions will be different it will be even hotter, so we’ll see what happens!”

19th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (1’41.971)

“I’m disappointed with this qualifying: the higher temperatures and the wind have made conditions a lot more difficult and we didn’t manage to get into Q2. After comparing my times with the ones set in Q2 I must say we’re all really close so if the conditions stay the same it’ll be a tough race but we can have a say in it. Let’s see tomorrow how the front tyre will behave as it heats up quite fast and we’ll have to be careful not to crash too early, especially with the temperatures forecast for tomorrow. We’ll try to put together a good comeback!”
