THIRD ROW FOR DIGGIA AT ARAGON, BULEGA 14TH

#AragonGP qualifying. Compared to yesterday, the Saturday of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 was a much more challenging day despite Fabio Di Giannantonio and Nicolò Bulega entering Q2 from the main door, as the two riders could not capitalise in the final session and were eighth and fourteenth, respectively, at the chequered flag.

It was quite a difficult one especially for Fabio Di Giannantonio, who crashed unhurt at turn 9 this morning during FP2, which altered and slowed down his on-track schedule. His Q2 time – six tenths shy of pole position – still represents an important performance and the rider #21 will try to battle at the front tomorrow.

Nicolò Bulega played all his cards today, with a set-up modification done for qualifying which did not pay off. The Italian was unable to improve on the 1’52.5secs set in FP3 and tomorrow he will line-up in the central spot of row five. The race will begin at the traditional time of 12:20 GMT +2.

8th – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21 (1’52.387)

“Let’s say the start of the day was not the best with the crash after two laps, but then we worked well. We tried a set-up change in qualifying which I didn’t like too much, and I think we will likely either go back to Friday’s settings or try something different in the warm up. The pace is good though so we can have a good race tomorrow.”

14th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (1’52.626)

“We have done well until now: we were always in the top ten and after FP3 we decided to take a gamble because we wanted to be further near the front of the field. Unfortunately, I struggled a bit more in qualifying as I didn’t like the set-up change, so we’ll revert back to this morning’s set up for the race.”
