THIRD ROW FOR LOWES IN #SANMARINOGP QUALIFYING

Sam Lowes has claimed an encouraging eighth place on the grid in today’s qualifying for the San Marino Grand Prix in an afternoon session that was heavily affected by the very high temperatures on the track – and in which there were plenty of crashes.

The standard bearer of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 was only 0.385secs away from the pole position time of Fabio Di Giannantonio and tomorrow he will surely be able to stay in the front group thanks to a competitive race pace. With the race scheduled at 12:20 local time (GMT+2), the weather should stay the same as today although some degrees are expected in this late-summer Sunday in Rimini’s riviera.

8th– SAM LOWES #22

“It’s been a positive day and we were able to clinch a good qualifying result. We stayed in the top-10 throughout all the weekend so far and maybe today we could have been on the second row – if not on the front one. My lap wasn’t perfect but I’m ready for the race. I feel good on the bike and even though this cannot be considered as a good present for my birthday, I’m still quite happy.”
