TEST MOTO2: DIGGIA SUPER QUICK AT MONTMELÓ

A two-day test has drawn to a close at Montmeló (Barcelona), the track hosting the seventh Grand Prix of the season on June 6th. For the occasion, the track was in its modified layout with a tighter (and slower) entrance to turn ten.

Fabio Di Giannantonio finished the test as second quickest, and the only one with Gardner able to break the 1’44secs barrier. The Italian completed a significant number of laps, despite the track conditions not being perfect at all times – i.e. the high winds encountered this afternoon.

Nicolò Bulega had a more difficult time: after trying several set-up changes, he went back to a previous configuration as he finished 12th with a half-second gap to his teammate. Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 will now head to Mugello for the team’s first home GP of the year, which gets under way in nine days’ time.

2nd FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21 (1’43.933)

“These last two days have been intense and productive as we tried many things and understood a lot. We have always been quick, even on day one race simulation. We gathered plenty of data which will be very useful for the season and especially for the Montmeló race, which takes place in three weeks. I would like to thank the team because they worked very hard and very well, and we are stonger than ever after this test.”

12th NICOLÒ BULEGA #21 (1’44.974)

“The test didn’t go too well because we tried different solutions but in the and we went back to square one, so at Mugello we will start with the same set-up we’re used to. This is also what testing is about so it hasn’t been a useless one in the end.”
