TOP10 FOR BULEGA AND PONS IN ALCAÑIZ DAY ONE FREE PRACTICE

The second of two back-to-back weekends at MotorLand Aragon started off on the right foot for the Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 team with both red-and-white riders able to place themselves in the top-ten with very similar lap-times.

Separated by only 33 thousandths of a second, Nicolò Bulega and Edgar Pons are ninth and tenth, respectively in the combined times and will have great chances to be seeded directly to the Q2 of #AlcanizGP.

The Spanish rider looked very much on top form throughout the day as he maintained himself in the higher part of the timesheets, as he even climbed up to second place in FP2, before crashing unhurt at turn eight. It was a bit more complicated for the Italian, who was only slightly more than half a second away from today’s leader Lowes.

9th – NICOLÒ BULEGA (1’52.501)

“I like the bike a lot more compared to last weekend and I managed to ride the way I wanted almost in every part of the track. There’s always something to fine tune, but it’s surely a confident boost for everybody. We will try to do even better tomorrow and be among the protagonists in qualifying.”

10th – EDGAR PONS (1’52.534)

“A good opening day and to be honest the crash shouldn’t have happened. We were in second place and we were improving. Due to the crash we missed the opportunity to put a new set of tyres, but we must be positive: we made some modifications to the bike which we liked and the goal will be to be in the top ten also on Sunday afternoon.”
