TOP TEN FOR TEAM FEDERAL IN ENGLISH FREE PRACTICE
Silverstone, free practice. Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 had an excellent start to the racing weekend by placing both its riders in the top ten in England. Both Fabio Di Giannantonio and Nicolò Bulega felt really comfortable aboard their bikes on a track that was missing from the calendar for almost two years – and in 2019 the race was also cancelled due to rain.
Both standard bearers of the team were very active on track while trying to find back the right feeling with such a well-liked, though still challenging track. Both Diggia and Bulega are currently within the group of riders who can be directly seeded to Q2, even though an improvement will still be needed in FP3 in order to make it happen and battle for pole position from 15:35 local time tomorrow (GMT +1).
6th – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21 (2’05.195)
“I’m very happy with today. We started very well this morning as we stayed out on track for the whole session, which is something that hadn’t happened before this year. The feeling with the bike is also excellent. I didn’t make the most of the softer tyre, but it was mostly due to a few small mistakes from my side. There’s still plenty of margin to improve tomorrow.”
9th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (2’05.709)
“It was finally a positive day with a good feeling on the bike, surely better than usual and especially better than in Austria. We can’t stop here though, because everyone else will improve tomorrow and we must do the same. This top ten result is without a doubt a good boost of confidence ahead for the weekend.”
